Biodiesel is a renewable, cleaner burning diesel fuel made from vegetable oil or animal tallow.

Technically speaking, biodiesel is called methyl ester or ethyl esters. Take vegetable oil and strip out the glycerin molecule and replace it with three alcohol molecules. Simply put, Biodiesel is vegetable oil modified with a lower viscosity to fool your diesel injection system to think it's still pumping petrol diesel. Biodiesel can also be produced from animal tallow.

B100 is 100% pure neat biodiesel. No diesel. B100 is not even considered a fuel.

Biodiesel is most often available in blended form such as B5 or B20. For example B20 translates to 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel. Houston Biodiesel provides only pure neat B100.

We sell and promote only the finest biodiesel that conforms to ASTM - DIN 6751 specifications. We sometimes have EN14214 spec B100 on tap.

If you can't find biodiesel in your area or if you want to run a higher blend than B5 or B20 then come see us. You can run whatever blend you want or feel comfortable using.

A few of these manufactures approve B100 use for their diesel engines while others in this list are B5, B20, or B30. Case (B100), Caterpillar (B100), Chysler, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Fairbanks Morse (B100), Ford, GM, International, John Deer, Kubota, Mack, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi, New Holland, Nissan UD, Peugeot, Scancia (B100), VW, Volvo, Yanmar. More to come. If you have an update for one of these documents please email them in so we can keep current as more manufactures make an official statment and approve B100 use.

Houston Biodiesel works hard to ensure our customers get a high quality product and have the knowledge to use it correctly.

To ensure product quality: We store our B100 inside the warehouse in small 275 or 330 gallon totes. An outdoor large metal tank would be less work but the small totes guarantee a very low water content, ease of tank inspection and cleaning. As far as we know we are also the only biodiesel retailer to sometime be able to offer EN14214 spec biodiesel. Also we like running our new forklift on B100. Moving totes around give us a chance to drive the lift truck.

Customer knowledge of the product is very important so we speak individually to each and every customer on the pros and cons of using biodiesel. We educate the customer on how to use biodiesel discussing cold weather use, oil change intervals, and proper initial fuel filter practice.

We only purchase biodiesel from reputable manufactures and do not just buy the cheapest load in town. Since we purchase premium biodiesel don't expect our pump to be the cheapest in town. We also don't play the pricing game but price biodiesel at a fixed cost plus method. We don't charge the $0.009 like ALL gas stations do. Unlike most business we are not in this for the money as we have other ventures that pay the overhead and can afford to operate from a different perspective. We really are a customer driven company.
